History

Founded in 1991, Galt Medical Corp., headquartered in Garland, Texas, designs, develops, manufactures, and markets disposable medical devices for adults and pediatric patients. Focusing on Interventional Radiology, Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Surgery, we are also a main supplier of Micro-Access/MST kits and PICC lines to the nursing community.

In August 2006, Galt was acquired by Theragenics Corporation®.

NeedleTech Products, Inc., located in North Attleboro Massachusetts, was founded in 1988 to address the needs of Medical Device Manufacturers. The first of many manufacturing competencies was Needle Point Grinding, followed by Stainless Steel Component Fabrication, Insert Injection Molding, Complete Device Assembly and final Sterile Product Packaging. Medical markets served include Interventional Radiology, Interventional Oncology, Spine and Biologics, Safety Devices, Sports Medicine, Implanter Devices, and Pain Management.

On July 28, 2008, NeedleTech Products, Inc. was acquired by Theragenics Corporation®.

Theragenics Corporation® is a medical device company focusing on the cancer treatment and surgical products markets. Theragenics™ brachytherapy business manufactures and sells products used primarily in the minimally invasive treatment of localized prostate cancer and breast cancer. In addition to the surgical products offered by subsidiaries Galt Medical and NeedleTech, Theragenics offers wound closure products through subsidiary CP Medical.

In late October 2013, Theragenics completed a merger with Juniper Acquisition Corporation, an affiliate of Juniper Investment Company, LLC.

In April 2014, Theragenics announced the opening of a manufacturing facility in San Jose, Costa Rica.
